Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health on a global scale, focusing on mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Movember work year round to improve the health of men and boys, their families, mates, and communities. As part of their Scaling What Works grants programme, Movember has partnered with Top Blokes Foundation to support its expansion to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.

These people may not have Government support and are not considered popular or newsworthy charitable projects. They remain the “forgotten” in our society. The James Frizelle Charitable Foundation’s goal is to assist them to get their lives back on track and restore their dignity. They do this by working with other eligible charities who have the necessary expertise and human resources but need financial support.

Snow Foundation is the creation of brothers Terry Snow and George Snow who established the foundation in 1991 to benefit the disadvantaged community in Canberra and beyond to enable individuals and organisations to introduce positive change. Terry and George had a pretty straightforward view, see someone struggling and you give them a helping hand.  Their aim was to help those individuals and organisations that freely give their time to help the less fortunate live fulfilling lives. In addition, they have been particularly interested in helping those people in the community whose needs were not covered by government, particularly individuals.

Small Steps 4 Hannah

Small Steps 4 Hannah

Hannah Clarke and her three children, Aaliyah, 6, Laianah, 4, and Trey, 3, lost their lives as a result of domestic violence on 19 February 2020.

The Clarke Family wish to honour the memories of their beloved family members by establishing Small Steps 4 Hannah to raise awareness and educate children and young people to identify coercive control behaviours and H.A.L.T. the cycle of Domestic and Family Violence.

We also seek donations from the public and provide much-needed assistance to organisations that promote the prevention or control of domestic violence and relieve the distress of those directly and indirectly affected by such violence.

Sydney Rotary Club

Sydney Rotary Club

Rotary Club of Sydney (RCS) has granted the Joan Salter Award of 2020, the Centenary year of Rotary in Australia and New Zealand, to Top Blokes for the purpose of funding an assessment study together with the implementation of a 3-phase independent evaluation, including the running of 6 “Stepping Up” programs. This is in line with their New Generations (Youth Committee) at RCS, which has as its purpose “Elevating Youth” in line with the goals of Rotary. The beneficiaries will be 72 boys aged between 10 and 13 years old with the express goal of “empowering young men to realise their potential.”

Ahead of the Game

Ahead of the Game

Top Blokes Foundation is excited to be one of 16 community organisations working with the AFL and Movember as a delivery partner to bring Movember Ahead of the Game (AOTG) to community football in 2023.

This mental health literacy and resilience training program aims to educate umpires, young players (aged 12-18 years) and their support networks (parents, coaches, and club volunteers) on the importance of mental health. Giving them tools to deal with life’s challenges, and the confidence to support their mates through tough times, whilst also empowering them to look after their own mental wellbeing.
 
AOTG was developed by leading experts from the University of Wollongong and is backed by a 5-year international program of scientific evidence.
